Sacred Heart

Established in 1887 with the German and Irish families of Wanatah with the nameChurch of the Most Precious Blood under the direction of Precious Blood priest, Father Dominic Shunk, CPPS, who also assumed responsibility for St. Martin of Tours, Mission in 1887. In 1911 the church's name was changed to Sacred Heart when it became staffed by diocesan priests. The church was built in 1888 and is stil in use for Sunday and daily Mass as well as other worship events. A boarding school was built on the property and operated until 1904. In its place a church hall was built in 1980 and is used today for both church and community purposes.
